IEC is a leading university representative and educational consultant, recruiting students from Germany and Austria for universities abroad. IEC started its operations in Germany 2001, Hilka Leicht is the Owner-Manager.

IEC has over 100 universities in its portfolio, most of them in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, with the remainder in Great Britain, Spain, Canada, USA, China, Malaysia and Singapore. The IEC team consists of 9 full time equivalent student advisors based in the Berlin office.

IEC Marketing Activities: Solutions for partner universities

Recruitment Services includes handling of student inquiries, counseling for students on courses, application procedures, visas, funding, and providing market updates and local infrastructure (office, marketing channels etc). These services are usually paid for by a partner package fee in conjunction with commissions per enrolled student.

University Marketing with IEC in Germany is offered in the yearly IEC Marketing Plan to client universities, including a range of IEC Info Tours, representation at major education fairs in Germany, ads in print materials such as the generic IEC brochure and the subject-specific IEC Study Guides, academic relations building with important universities / organizations and online marketing. Each of the listed marketing activities are being booked and paid for individually.

IEC is certified AIRC agent

IEC  has been awarded Certification by the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) for the period from December 2009 through December 2012.

Founded in June 2008, the AIRC is a Standards Development Organization (SDO) officially registered with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Its mission is to develop standards of ethical practice pertaining to international student recruitment to American educational institutions and to establish a certification framework for international student recruitment agencies.
During the accreditation procedure, the AIRC reviewers evaluated IEC's books, processes and strategy. Also, the IEC advisors' team was tested on its' knowledge on the U.S. higher education system and the advising strategies used.
With this accreditation, IEC has prooven a high level of quality in its' processes, advising and service quality to both students and its' university partners.

IEC is a New Zealand Specialist Agent

Two IEC student advisors (Katja Dittmann and Katrin Kuehn) have participated in the Agent training workshop organized by New Zealand Educated. As a result of personal preparation, then the one day intensive training and an exam, IEC received the certification as "New Zealand Specialist Agent".
A New Zealand Specialist Agent is one that has a deep knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Education System and has experience in working professionally with the New Zealand International Education industry.
